DG Assam Rifles visit in Manipur

Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, SM**, DG Assam Rifles, arrived in Manipur on a one day visit to inspect functioning of the Assam Rifles units. The Indian Army General is the head of Assam Rifles and is responsible for the Assam Rifle personnels throughout the North East. He was received by Major General KP Singh, YSM, IGAR (South).
The DGAR appreciated the effort of Border Guarding Force in preventing smuggling & influx of contrabands, particularly drugs, which, if allowed,will have a crippling effect on our youth & future generation of Manipur.
The General Officer called upon the personnel of Assam Rifles to carry out people-friendly operations. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Act East’ policy, he asked the troops of Assam Rifles to continue their efforts in creating a conducive & peaceful environment in the State so that the people of the Manipur can also be a part of the growth of the nation.
The DG complimented the State Government for the improving law & order situation in the State.
