NIA Convicts 19 Accused, Including 4 Bangladeshi Nationals, in Burdwan Blast Case

The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Court in Kolkata, West Bengal, has convicted nineteen accused persons for all the charges against them in the Burdwan Blast Case of 2014.

The accused persons had had pleaded guilty to the charges in the NIA Crime Case no. RC-03/2014/NIA/DLI.

Out of the nineteen convicted, four have been identified as Bangladeshi nationals.

The convicted are: Gulsona Bibi alias Razia Bibi, Alima Bibi alias Amina Bibi, Abdul Hakim alias Hasan, Sheikh Rahamatullah alias Sajid alias Burhan Sheikh alias Surot Ali (Bangladeshi national), Amjad Ali Shaikh alias Kajol, Mohammad Sahanur Alom alias Sahanur Alom alias Doctor, Shaikhul Islam Khan alias Swaiful Islam Khan alias Abdullah, Mohammad Rejaul Karim alias Anwar, Habibur Rehman alias Noor Alam, Giyasuddin Munshia alias Giyas Master, Mofajjul Ali alias Mufazzal Ali alias Laden, Abul Kalam alias Azad alias Abdul Kalam, Sadiq alias Sumon alias Sadik alias Suman alias Tarikul Islam alias Raihan Shaikh (Bangladeshi national), Liakot Ali alias Pramanik alias Rafique alias Rafiqul alias Mohammed Rubel (Bangladeshi national), Lal Mohammad alias Laltu alias Ibrahim alias Saif alias Sahib, Abdul Wahab Momin alias Ahab Ali, Habibur Rahman alias Jahidul Islam alias Jabirul Islam alias Zafar (Bangladeshi national), Mohammad Sahidul Islam alias Samim, and Nurul Hoque Mandal alias Naeem alias Babu.

It is to be mentioned that on 2 October, 2014, an explosion occurred in a house in the Khagragarh locality of Burdwan. Two suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists were killed and a third injured. The police seized 55 improvised explosive devices, RDX, wrist watch dials and SIM cards.
