Separate Naga Flag and Constitution a Must to Resolve ‘Naga Problem’: NSCN (IM) Leader Th Muivah
News Desk
As the Government of India steps up its bid to reach a solution for the long pending ‘Naga issue’, Thuingaleng Muivah, the veteran leader of the NSCN (IM) said that the Nagas are not willing to part compromise on their demand for a separate flag and Constitution, which was a part of the historic Framework Agreement signed in 2015.
In a recent interview, the NSCN (IM) top man said that after an epoch of holding talks, both sides have finally realized the necessity of “sharing with each other.”
Muivah also said that since the Naga people have a unique history and were never under the dominion of India, the solution for the age old Naga problem must be “unique”. Muivah further added that the sovereignty of Nagas lies with them, and that has also been accepted by the Government of India.
“But, the Indian Government also has its difficulties, and thus, it has become a matter of negotiating”, he said.
