Until the investigation is concluded, the ministry has requested that Zirona Tripura suspend her involvement in all council-related duties. The directive has been communicated to key administrative and law enforcement officials, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Hill District Council, the Deputy Commissioner, and the Superintendent of Police of Khagrachari.

It is worth noting that Zirona Tripura has long faced local criticism for alleged favoritism and arbitrary decision-making during her tenure. The recent unified move by the majority of council members has brought the issue to the attention of the central government, prompting this significant administrative step aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the local governance of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
