Tribal Armed Miscreants Killed Jubo League Leader in Bandarban

A Bangladesh Awami Jubo League leader from Bandarban Sadar upazila has been killed in an armed attack by some unidentified tribal armed miscreants. The incident took place in Baghmara area of Rajbila union at around 7pm on 1st September. The deceased, Mong Cho U Marma (42) was an organizational secretary of Jubo League’s local unit.
Before joining Jubo League, he was a member of Santu Larma’s JSS. According to his family members, since he joined Jubo League two years before, he had been receiving death threats from JSS(M).
Local sources said a group of six to seven tribal armed cadres attacked Mong Cho and killed him. Confirming the incident, Sadar police station OC Shahidul Islam said: “We were informed about the incident by locals and sent a police team to recover the dead body.”
