Bangladeshi injured in mine blast along Bandarban border

Another Bangladeshi man has been injured in a landmine explosion at Jumchhari border area in Bandarban’s Naikhongchhari upazila on Saturday.

The injured was identified as Golam Akbar , Nurul Absar, chairman of Bandarban Sadar Union Parishad, confirmed.

Quoting locals, Chairman Nurul Absar said: “Golam from Jumchhari entered Myanmar and crossed the zero line of the border to bring a stolen cow. A land mine exploded leaving him seriously injured at that time”.

“The injured person in the mine explosion is undergoing treatment in Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital.

For the past few months, members of a few syndicates have been bringing hundreds of stolen cows from Myanmar every day, avoiding the eyes of the administration at some points of Chakdhala, Ashartali, Phultali, Kambania, Jumchhari on the Naikshyongchari border of the district.

On September 16, another Bangladeshi youth was seriously injured in a landmine explosion along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
