BGB seizes 1kg crystal meth in Chittagong

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday morning seized one kg of crystal methamphetamine (crystal meth or Ice) during a raid conducted on a bus in Chittagong.

Five bus passengers were detained for questioning as the person carrying the goods could not be identified.

BGB-8 Battalion Captain Lieutenant Colonel Shahed Minhaj said: “Acting on a tip-off, BGB conducted a search of a Shyamoli Paribahan bus that was travelling from Pabna to Chittagong. During the search, BGB found an illicit substance concealed in a bag in the luggage compartment above the passenger seat.

“The crystal methamphetamine were in a bag within the luggage compartment, weighing about one kg. No one has claimed ownership of the bag. Presently, police and narcotics control officers are intensively interrogating the detainees,” he added.
