Man held with 1.4 lakh yaba tablets in Teknaf

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a man in possession of 1.40 lakh yaba tablets worth Tk 4.20 crore from Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on August 05. The detainee was identified as Arafat (20) of Alikhali village in Teknaf, a press release issued by the BGB said on 5th August.

Tipped off that a large consignment of yaba from Myanmar was entering Bangladesh, a BGB team took position in Leda Khal area on 04 August night. Around 1:15am, the BGB team stopped a man who had swam across the Naf River. The BGB team then detained the man, later identifying him as one Arafat.

The BGB men recovered the yaba pills from two bags the man was carrying and also seized a mobile phone, added the release.
