Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 2 lakh Yaba tablets and arrested two Rohingya men in separate anti-narcotics operations along the Ghumdhum and Baishfari borders in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.

A special patrol team from Ghumdhum Border Outpost (BOP) conducted a drive around 9:00pm on Saturday at Jamal-er Gher, located 200 yards inside Bangladesh territory from border pillar No. 32.

During the drive, BGB personnel detained two Rohingya men along with 10,000 Yaba tablets, according to a press release issued by Cox’s Bazar Battalion (34 BGB).

The detainees were identified as Md Islam, 25, son of Md Hossain, and Md Mojibullah, 23, son of Md Jalil, from Rohingya Camp-8 in Ukhiya upazila of Box’s Bazar.

Lt Col SM Khairul Alam, 34 BGB commanding officer, said the force remains committed to safeguarding borders and preventing cross-border drug trafficking to protect the nation’s youth.
