Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed a money laundering case against nine people including Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) chief Nathan Bom for their involvement in financing the production of uniforms for the banned militant organisation.

The case was filed with Bayezid Bostami Police Station on October 7 under Section 4(2) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012, said CID Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Md Sufi Ullah.

The other accused are Monghlasing Marma alias Mong, Niaz Haider, Md Golam Azam, Sahedul Islam, Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Jamalul Islam, Md Touhidul Islam and Md Matiur Rahman.

According to the CID, its investigation found financial transactions totalling Tk 1.62 crore for the production of 40,000 sets of four-colour camouflage uniforms for the KNF.

Of the amount, Tk 90.59 lakh was paid to Well Composite Knit Ltd for producing camouflage-print fabric, while Tk 72 lakh was paid to Ringvo Apparels, NN Fashion and Noor Fashion for stitching the uniforms.

The CID said its investigation found evidence that Monghlasing Marma, acting as a KNF representative, contacted Niaz Haider and later Golam Azam to arrange the production of the uniforms.

The investigation also found that the transactions were conducted through bank accounts, cheques and cash, allegedly in coordination with other accused, the CID said.

In a police raid in May 2025, three people  involved in making KNF uniforms were arrested.

Police later recovered 20,300 sets of camouflage uniforms from a warehouse and a garment factory in Chattogram.

The CID said its investigation into the financial network behind the production of KNF uniforms is continuing.
