Another 356 Rohingyas reach Bhasan Char

Another 356 Rohingyas from Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camp reached Bhasan Char on Sunday.
They were brought to Bhasan Char by two navy ships. With this, the number of Rohingyas in the Bhasan Char shelter stood at 30,435.
According to reports, the Banauja Tuna and Banauja Timi under the command of the Bangladesh Navy and the guidance of the National Intelligence Agency transported 356 Rohingyas from Cox’s Bazar to Bhasan Char.
The Rohingyas were transported to the helipad next to the Navy pontoon after getting off the ship in the afternoon.
Later, they were driven from that location to their new residences.
The 760 Rohingyas arrived from Cox’s Bazar Sunday afternoon, according to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir of the Bhasan Char police station.
In the 15th phase, 356 more Rohingyas arrived among them.
After visiting, the remaining 404 Rohingyas went back to their camp in Cox’s Bazar.
The number of Rohingyas transported to Bhasan Char Rohingya camp up to this point is as follows: 1,642 in the first phase on December 4, 2020; 1,804 in the second phase on December 29; 3,242 in the third phase on January 29 and 30, 2021; 3,018 in the fourth phase on February 14-15; 4,021 in the fifth phase on March 3-4; 4, 372 in the sixth phase 1-2 April; 379 in the seventh phase on November 25; 552 in the eighth phase 18 December; 705 in the ninth phase on January 6, 2022; 1,287 in the 10th phase on January 31; 1,655 in the 11th phase on February 17; 2,982 in the 12th phase on March 10; 3,532 in the 13th phase on March 31; and 963 people in the 14th phase on October 17.
In addition, in May 2021, 306 Rohingya who tried to cross the sea illegally to Malaysia were rescued from the sea and transferred to Bhasan Char Rohingya camp.
