News Desk:

Congress party’s Zenith Sangma on Friday came down harshly on Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma after the latter met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day he filed his nomination in Varanasi.

Zenith took to social media platform Facebook to express his views. Zenith accused Conrad of making ‘eyewashing’ statements to the people that Sangma’s National People’s Party is not aligned with the BJP to ‘disguise’ the NPP’s deep relationship with the BJP.

Zenith further alleged that after the election is over in Conrad’s home state , he has gone to Varanasi to show solidarity and full support to his godfather Shri. Narendra Modi at the time of the latter’s filing of nominations for Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

Zenith’s Facebook post

“Is it not the betrayal? When the tribal people and minority religious communities are ceaselessly praying that BJP should not come back to power again. He has gone there to meet him as PM but now only to support his candidature when he is seeking mandate for the second time”, he added.

Zenith Sangma also poked Conrad over his stand regarding the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and asked that although Conrad has said that he will sever ties with the BJP if CAB is passed, asked if he will call the doctor after the patient is dead.
