Is the Govt. of Mizoram taking sufficient steps to help stranded residents?
News Desk
There are several buses already reached Mizoram carrying hundreds of students and migrants workers from various locations of northeastern states. The process of transportation is being initiated by the Govt. of Mizoram as per the agreement among the northeastern states. Before entering Mizoram, the buses are being screened at Vairengte, the Inter-state border gate in Mamit district bordering Assam.
As per the report to this media, only three buses have reached Mizoram this morning. However, there are many more students still stranded in different parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal and Manipur.
Upon getting this information that some students are left behind with uncertainty, our correspondent has contacted Resident Commissioner (+91-9402196315) at Mizoram House, Shillong as the names of some of the Chakmas are already registered with them and the schedule to deport the stranded students is today. The RC replied this, “All vehicles are full, whoever is willing to go home (Mizoram) shall have to go on their own and I’m not sure whether more vehicles for such transportation are coming or not. “
