UPDF member among two shot dead in Khagrachhari

Two people, including a member of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) have been shot dead in broad daylight in Khagrachhari.

The incident took place in Moddho Banchhara village under Babuchhara union in Dighinala upazila around 9pm on Tuesday (28th April).

The deceased were identified as Babu Chakma, a member of UPDF (Prasit Group) and Sudip Chakma, a local.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) MM Salah Uddin said: “Locals informed us of the incident. Police are on it’s way to recover the dead bodies.”

” Our member Babu Chakma was busy in organizational activities when he was killed. We are trying to find out who were behind the killings of our member.” said Angya Marma, organizer of UPDF (Prasit group) Khagrachhari district unit.
