Army inaugurates one-minute market in Rangamati

Bangladesh army has started a one-minute market programme, an initiative to distribute free vegetable and other daily necessities among poor families, in Rangamati.
Brigadier Iftekur Rahman, Rangamati region commander of Bangladesh army, inaugurated the programme on Friday (15th May) morning.
Total nine kinds of vegetables will be available in this market. The market will also provide daily necessities including rice.
Brigadier Iftekur Rahman said, “Not just in Rangamati, this market will also be opened in Kaptai and Naniachar.”
“Apart from helping the poor people who are suffering because of the coronavirus situation, we also aim to help marginal farmers by buying vegetables produced by them,” he further said.
Enlisted poor families will be able to collect vegetables and daily necessities from the market completely free of cost.
Earlier, a similar one-minute market was opened in Chattogram on Wednesday (13th May).
