Bangladesh Army Stands beside a Handicapped Tribal Fellow in Khagrachari

Like every time Bangladesh Army is continuing its humanitarian effort in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Recently the Army unit deployed in Khagrachari has built a house for a handicapped elderly tribal fellow after his request to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for a house.
A local handicapped tribal Priyo Ranjan Chakma living in Kunjarampara village in Panchhari upazila appealed for a shelter which was published in a local newspaper of Khagrachari on 09 March. It touched the members of the Khagrachari Zone Army. They decided to stand beside Ranjan and built a house for him as a part of their humanitarian work. Lt Col Md Zahidul Islam, commander of Khagrachhari Sadar Zone, handed over the keys of the house to Ranjan.
Construction of the house started on 13 March and was completed on 1 April. Ranjan expressing his gratitude said, “The army has built a house for my family. I am very happy.” When contacted, Lt Col Md Zahidul Islam said, “Khagrachhari Sadar Zone will always take effective measures so that people can enjoy their basic rights properly.” He further said the Army would continue such initiatives in the future for the socio-economic development of the people living in the hilly areas as well as for maintaining communal harmony there.
