DGFI officer killed during anti-drug drive along Tombru border: ISPR

An officer of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence was killed and a member of the Rapid Action Battalion was injured in a clash between ‘drugs smugglers’ and law enforcers in Tombru bordering area in Bandarban district on Monday (14th November).
A release issued by the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate on Tuesday said that the clash occurred when the members of the DGFI and the RAB conducted a joint anti-drug drive in Tombru bordering area
The release did not mention the names and positions of the victim officers but said that the deceased DGFI officer was an officer of the Bangladesh Air Force.
‘During the clash with drug smugglers, an on-duty DGFI officer (Bangladesh Air Force officer) embraced martyrdom by sacrificing his life for the country and a RAB member was injured,’ read the release.
