3 bullet-hit bodies recovered from Bandarban

Police recovered three bullet-hit bodies from Rowangchhari upazila in Bandarban on Monday afternoon.
Three unidentified bodies were recovered from the remote forest between Kaplang and Paikhyang areas of the upazila, said Rowangchari police station sub-inspectors Saiful Islam and Rahul Roy confirming the matter.
According to local sources, massive firing took place in the Majh Khan area between Kaplang and Paikhyang, 15 kilometers away from the upazila on Monday morning.
After that, when the locals informed the police about the matter, the police recovered the bodies of three people from the forest around 4pm.
Although all the victims belong to the tribal community, the details of their identities could not be known.
The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Earlier on April 7, Eight people were killed in a gunfight between two factions of the notorious separatist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) in Rowangchhari Upazila of Bandarban.
The deaths reported on April 7 were the highest in an armed incident in the area since the July 2020 incident.
According to locals, on the morning of July 7, 2020, six members of Jana Samhati Samiti (Reformist-MN Larma) were shot to death at Baghmara of Bandarban Sadar upazila.
On March 12 this year, a senior army warrant officer was killed and two other soldiers suffered injuries when members of KNA opened fire on a patrol team in Rowangchhari upazila of Bandarban.
