BSF member held in Dinajpur for illegal border crossing

A Border Security Force (BSF) member has been detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the Biral border in Dinajpur for illegal border crossing.

The detainee is Upal Kumar Das.

BGB’s public relations officer, Md Shariful Islam, confirmed the matter in a statement on Tuesday.

The BGB said that the BSF jawan was apprehended for crossing the border illegally at Biral in Dinajpur.

Colonel Md Ariful Islam, the Dinajpur BGB sector commander, said that the BSF member mistakenly crossed the zero line into Bangladesh. He was detained, and the BSF officials have been informed. The jawan will be handed back following discussions between BGB and BSF officials.
