Crores of taka, 11 iPhones found in former secretary’s house

Former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives Mohammad Amjad Hossain and his son have been arrested. They were arrested in a joint force operation on Sunday night.
Sub-Inspector Abu Sayed of Uttara West Police Station confirmed the authenticity of the operation. He said that the joint force conducted a 3-hour operation at Amjad Hossain’s house in Sector 11 of Uttara. During this, 1.9 crore taka, several foreign currencies, wristwatches of different brands and 11 iPhones were seized from the flats on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the house.
Additional Secretary Amjad Hossain Khan and his son have been arrested. Abu Sayed also said that they will be sent to court with the necessary cases.
Amjad Hossain Khan retired as Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives in 2020. His house is in Gazipur Sadar.
