DG ASSAM RIFLES VISITS IGAR(S) & HQ 26 SECT AR

Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, SM**, DG Assam Rifles, visited HQ IGAR(South) & HQ 26 Sector on 23-24 June 2019. He was briefed by Maj Gen KP Singh, YSM, IGAR(S) on the security situation along Indo-Myanmar border & various administrative & the man management challenges faced by the Force. Various Innovations developed by the Officers & men towards enhancing the operational capabilities of the Force were also displayed.

The DG alongwith IGAR(S) also made a brief visit to Mary Kom Boxing Academy in Imphal, wherein he Interacted with the world Champion MC Mary Kom and thanked her for agreeing to be the face of Assam Rifles Boxing Team and for helping them become the potential medal winners for the country.

During his visit to HQ 26 Sector, a demonstration was organised to show various training activities undertaken by the Assam Rifles troops to enhance operational efficiency.

Appreciating the role played by the troops of Assam Rifles in Manipur, the General Officer encouraged them to continue their efforts in creating a conducive and peaceful environment in the region so that the trust & faith of the populace in the Security Forces is further cemented.
