Tripura Congress Chief Pradyot Manikya Resigns from All Party Posts

Tripura Congress Chief Pradyot Manikya has resigned from all party posts citing differences with the high command.
Manikya took to Facebook to share about his resignation. “I start this day without having to listen to criminals and liars. Not having to worry about which colleague will back stab u, not having to indulge in groupism and backchat.”
He added, “Not having to listen to ‘High Command’ on how to accommodate corrupt people in high positions.”
The possibility of Manikya’s resignation from the party posts and the royal scion had been well discussed recently and now finally left the party position.
Manikya further said that he was not ready to allow wrong elements in the society get into posts and position which would destroy our state. “I have decided that a positive mindset to life is what I need and I have changed the people around me who are negative,” he added on the Facebook post.
It is to be mentioned here that the head of the Manikya Dynasty was allegedly asked to withdraw a National Register of Citizens (NRC) case that he had filed at the Supreme Court. He was given a choice by AICC General Secretary L Falerio to either withdraw the NRC case or continue as the President of the Party in Tripura.
He was also asked not to raise the demand of Article 244 A by senior Congress leaders if he wished to continue with the position. Article 244 A includes direct funding to the tribal ruled ADC areas and something similar which had been accepted by the BJP led Sonowal Government in Assam’s Karbi Anglong.
Earlier, sources close to Pradyot told Inside Northeast, “He will not compromise with the sentiments of the indigenous people and in fact we wonder why the Congress is pressurizing him to withdraw the case one and a half years later.”
The royal scion shared on Facebook, “Today I can contribute for my state with a clear and honest mind. The Bubagra in me is more powerful than any political post.”
