Muslims will Continue to Produce Children: Badruddin Ajmal on Assam Govt’s ‘2 Child’ Policy

News Desk
All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader Badrudding Ajmal has alleged that the Assam Government’s rule to stop people with two children or more from having Government jobs is meant to stop Muslims from having jobs, reports India on 27th October (Sunday).
Alleging that it is a conspiracy against Muslims, Badruddin Ajmal said that he personally believes that those who want to come to the world will come and no one can stop it.
The Dhubri MP further added that Muslims will do whatever they want to bear children, and by trying to stop them from doing so, the Assam Government is “fighting with nature”.
It may be mentioned here that on October 22, the Assam Cabinet decided to make government jobs out of bounds for people with more than two children, as per the Government’s two-child policy.
This decision was taken two years after the 126-member Assam Assembly adopted a population policy. This new policy will come into effect from January 1, 2021.
According to reports, the Assam Government took this decision because of the pressure on land and resources in Assam. Providing land to the landless was also one of the current Government’s pre-election promises.
It may be mentioned here that in September 2017, the Assam Assembly had passed the ‘Population and Women Empowerment Policy of Assam’ that specified that job candidates with two children only would be eligible for government employment and the existing government staff were to strictly follow the two children family norm.
