6 killed in Bandarban truck-collision

Six people were killed and at least 12 sustained injuries in a collision between two trucks at Bagalek area in Ruma upazila of Bandarban on Monday afternoon.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Ruma police station officer-in-charge (OC) Alamgir Hossain, quoting locals, said that a truck was going to Bagalek from Ruma Bazar at noon. At that time, the truck collided head-on with a passenger-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.
Four women were killed on the spot when the truck lost control and fell into a ditch, he added.
The OC also said that the injured were rescued and taken to Ruma Health Complex. The death toll may rise.
