Home Adviser to BGB: Perform duties with professionalism

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has directed the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to perform their duties with professionalism, referring to recent incidents of border killing.

“The security of the border and anti-smuggling are the primary responsibilities of the BGB. Do not turn your back at the border; ensure to fulfill the duties assigned to you,” he said in his address to senior BGB officials at the Border Conference Center in Pilkhana, Dhaka.

The adviser also said that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He warned that strict punitive measures will be taken against those involved in bribery and corruption, and they will be dismissed from their positions if necessary.

He added: “The BGB must operate according to the law.”
