81 Rohingyas held by locals while entering Bangladesh

Locals on Monday morning detained 81 Rohingyas while they entered Bangladesh through the Alikadam border with Myanmar and turned them over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

Residents said that as the Rohingyas attempted to move to different locations from the bus station area, they detained them.

Later, with the help of the local administration, they were handed over to the BGB.

Alikadam Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rupayan Deb said an investigation is underway to determine if any locals were involved in the incident.
