Mominul Awal is a “dalal” of Bangladeshis: Golaghat AASU

Protesting over the recent statements made by BJP leader Syed Mominul Awal, the All Assam Students Union-Golaghat unit burnt his effigy and termed him as a broker of Bangladeshis in the state.

Speaking during the protest, Golaghat district president of AASU, Biswajit Gogoi said that Mominul Awal should refrain from creating unnecessary controversies. “We warn him not to make any derogatory or defaming comments on our general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi. He has no rights to defame AASU”, he said.

He added that Awal is a dalal (broker) of the Bangladeshis in Assam and the people in Golaghat are well aware of his misdeeds.

He claimed that Awal is also been engaged in many anti-social and illegal activities over the years and people are well aware of it.

The AASU leader further alleged that the BJP party is trying to rid themselves of a faulty NRC after things did not go according to plan, despite being in power. “A person with even very little knowledge knows that the Government is responsible for this, not the Supreme Court. This is why the BJP has been trying to wipe their hands clean”, he added.
